Good News for Manufacturers

In 2008 a long and arduous recession hit businesses across America, and the struggle was particularly fierce for machinery manufactures. For many companies, orders slowed from a stream to a trickle, and the future seemed uncertain in the face of layoffs, cutbacks, and weak sales.
However, we can finally say with confidence that things are looking up. There have been numerous reports on the returning strength of the manufacturing sector. In fact, August showed an expansion in the manufacturing industry that has not been paralleled in over three years. The overall economy has seen an upswing, of course, so this kind of growth is not completely out of the blue. Still, since manufacturers are the backbone of American business, these kind of numbers are a relief to many.
