The Economical Slitter Rewinder by Contech USA

In recent years, Contech engineers and sales personnel have had several of their converting customers ask for a mid-range Slitter/Rewinder machine. Whereas many higher-end and more expensive machines deliver production rates upwards of 2000 feet per minute, many manufacturers simply do not need that high rate of production and are seeking a midrange, stand-alone solution capable of around 600-750 feet per minute, with an appropriate mid-range price to match it.

With the help of Rockwell Automation using Allen Bradley controls, Contech was able to deliver. Leveraging the programming of the Allen Bradley controls greatly reduced the time it took to configure and program a new Slitter/Rewinder. Contech was able to cut programming time on the PLC by 30% and cut programming time on the drives by more than 50%. This allowed the Contech Team to significantly cut down the typical production time that it takes for a Slitter/Rewinder. Beyond time savings, Contechs engineers were able to lower the total cost by approximately 50% less than a typical high-speed Slitter/Rewinder available on the market today.
